Properties
Rock Salt, widely known as Sendha Namak in India or Himalayan Pink Salt globally, is an unrefined, naturally occurring halite mineral. It ranges in color from translucent white to deep pink due to trace iron oxide. Characterized by a milder, slightly less aggressive salinity than regular table salt, it is culturally significant in India, being the only salt permitted for consumption during religious fasting (Vrat/Upvas).

Hypertension & Iodine Deficiency
Rock salt still poses a high risk for hypertension if overconsumed. Additionally, because it is unrefined, it lacks the iodine fortification found in table salt, which can lead to thyroid issues if used exclusively.
